"Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead" by Sheryl Sandberg

We would like to invite you to join us for our virtual Breaking Barriers Book Club meeting as we discuss Sheryl Sandberg's Lean In book.  In Lean In, Sandberg fuses humorous personal anecdotes, singular lessons on confidence and leadership, and practical advice for women based on research, data, her own experiences, and the experiences of other women of all ages.

At our Book Club, we believe in breaking down barriers and fostering insightful conversations. That's why, based on feedback from our amazing group, we've chosen to dissect Lean In, three chapters at a time. We wanted to uncover gems of wisdom together, chapter by chapter, in a warm and inclusive environment and discuss how it relates to our own personal experiences. If you haven't been able to join us before, worry not! Our next meeting on May 3rd will focus on chapters 4 to 6.  Chapter four, aptly titled "It's a Jungle Gym, Not a Ladder," challenges traditional career trajectories, advocating for a more flexible and dynamic approach. Chapter five delves into the importance of mentorship, while chapter six encourages us to boldly seek and articulate our truths.

We encourage you to engage with Lean In ahead of our discussion by jotting down your reflections or questions. Even if you haven't completed the book, your participation and diverse perspectives are highly valued.
